Illumination Foundation Fundraiser 2009

A couple months ago I was asked by my cousin's wife to take part in a great cause. I was asked to be one of the committee members for the Illumination Foundation. Illumination Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has placed 100 homeless families into their temporary homes. My cousin's wife owns a floral design company so she was donating her talent and time. She asked if I would be interested in donating my talent as an event planner to plan their annual fundraiser. I am so glad I did it! After several months of planning the event was finally here. The event was on Saturday, July 11th, a couple days after I return from my month long trip in Europe. I literally hit the ground running the day after I got back. The event was held at The Los Alamitos Race Course. Not only was it a fun venue the food and service was just exquisite!

I really believe in this organization and the people behind it. Even though times are tough right now and I was so happy there were so many people who came out to support this great cause. The people of Illumination Foundation and the group of volunteer committee members really put their heart and soul into this event and I am so glad the event was a success. I am really looking forward to doing it again next year!

Lisa & Kirk's Wedding | Part 1

I am so happy my friend Lisa asked me to help plan her dream wedding! Lisa and I go way back, we went to high school together and was in choir together all 4 years. :) I am truly honor to be such a big part of her special day because the wedding turned out to be way more then she had ever imagined. Let's just say that she cried a couple times that day and they were all tears of joy!

Lisa and Kirk got married at Casa Romantica in San Clemente and the reception was held at the Talega Golf Club nearby. Lisa has great taste and style and the color scheme for their elegant wedding was all in jewel tones. I'm sure the photographers enjoyed photographing them because the colors just pop!

Baby Luke

My best friend Anna recently gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby boy. I really love photographing Luke. For some reason I think he knows I'm taking pictures of him because he like to smile for me a lot! I had to make a collage of some of the photos I took of him while he was napping. He is really the cutest baby ever! My best friend Anna also thinks he is the cutest baby ever but she is a little bias because he's her son. But really, he is the cutest ever! I just love him to pieces! I can't wait to see them again in a few days! Since the day he was 2 days old I've been coming over every week and taking pictures of him. He will be 3 weeks in a couple days. More picture time! Enjoy!

Mock-up Arrangement

I recently booked a wedding doing just the flowers since the clients already booked my friend Cat as their wedding coordinator. The bride has asked me to do a mock-up of the centerpiece for them. I absolutely love this arrangement because the flowers and the manzanita branch makes it so springy! I had a lot of leftover flowers so I had to do some flowers for my mom too! Enjoy!

I've been cooking since I was 5 years old but baking is a totally different animal. I've been doing a lot more baking lately though. I've done cupcakes and cookies before but now I am venturing into the more advance stage...mini red velvet bundt cakes! Check out the pics from my first batch!
