I am so so excited for all of us! It is the first time for both of us to be featured on a wedding website! I called my friend Jae aka the bride and she didn't even know we got featured too! This is an exciting day for all of us! It was Jae's dream to be featured on Style Me Pretty since this website was all she talked about when she was planning her wedding! Not only was I in charge of all the flowers and decor like usual I was also her bartender! It was my first time bartending so it was a little scary but super fun once I got the hang of it. To make it easier on me we had a drink menu so there was only 5 drinks I had to learn the recipe for! <br /><br />Needless to say I had an awesome time and was food was so so delish! It was all made by Helena's mom. It was a lot of work but so worth it cus there's nothing better than home cookin! <br /><br />Since her dad's favorite hobby is to raise koi fishes the theme of the party had to be around koi fishes! Julie wanted to do most of the planning herself and asked me to do all the floral centerpieces. The concept for the centerpieces was simple and modern and I was so excited to help her do that! To add to the tablescape, Julie designed these fun labels with golfing and fishing in black and bright neon green since those were her uncle's two favorite hobbies. The party was held at the Braemar Country Club and needless to say the food and setting was just perfect for her uncle since he's a big fan of golf. Julie's aunt was so sweet and invited me to stay as a guest too! I did the event planning and floral arrangements and my friend chef Anahita made all the delicious food for everyone to enjoy. The guests were treated to some delicious hors d'oeuvres while they were shopping and the live DJ was the perfect addition to the night. I was bummed I couldn't attend since it was the same day as the wedding I was planning in San Diego. Linda's boss wanted their grand opening party to be a casino theme and I knew exactly who to contact for a casino theme party! My friend Andrew is the co-owner of All In Productions and they specialize in casino parties throughout southern California. www.all-inproductions.net. He and his staff did an awesome job entertaining all the guests. Even when the food was ready they didn't want to leave the tables! Guests were given $500 worth of chips and the person with the highest chips at the end of the night got a chance to win amazing door prizes. The grand prize was a flat screen TV! The DJ kept the music going all night long and one of the highlights of the night were the beautiful belly dancers. I usually just do the coordinating but this time I was on double duty. I was also the floral designer for their wedding so needless to say it was super crazy for me the past couple months planning their big day. I was so glad they enjoyed their day and everything came together for them. Their family and friends really enjoyed the day as well and that is all I need to hear after months of planning. I met Jae and Randall 6 years ago on separate occasion. Jae and Randall are both talented actors and I was one of those groupies that would go out and support them whenever they have a show. They were both part of 2 different sketch comedy troupes and have only known about each other but have never met. Until about a year and a half ago their paths crossed and the rest as they say is history! We've become really good friends through the years and I was so excited when they asked me to help turn their wedding dreams into reality! Not only was I coordinating their wedding I was also doing all the flowers and decorations! I was even more excited when they told me they wanted a vintage style wedding! I've always wanted to do a vintage style wedding and I just couldn't wait to get started! Their wedding was held at the super charming Huron Substation in Los Angeles. It is just the perfect setting for their vintage style wedding with the charm of the interior and exterior of the venue. I highly recommend this venue for a small intimate wedding. <br /><br />You can feel the love Jae and Randall have for each other 10,000 miles away! I haven't cried at a wedding in a while since I do see them often enough, but they sure filled my eyes up with tears that day. I know the love they have for each will continue to grow and I feel very blessed to be able to be a part of it. Thank you Jae and Randall for believing in me and putting all your trust in me! I am looking forward to making more memories with you guys. I really love Katherine's sense of style because like myself we are both into modern design! I really love the color scheme she chose too; moss green, ivory and chocolate brown! It feels really great to hear and see how happy the bride and groom is that day. Katherine told me she almost cried when she saw her bouquet. All the bridesmaids were telling me how much they loved their bouquets too. :) When Katherine and Henry saw the rest of the flowers they were just as excited! The groom even told me before I left that all the guests kept saying how much they loved the flowers and everything was just so beautiful! I was asked to be one of the committee members for the Illumination Foundation. Illumination Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has placed 100 homeless families into their temporary homes. My cousin's wife owns a floral design company so she was donating her talent and time. She asked if I would be interested in donating my talent as an event planner to plan their annual fundraiser. I am so glad I did it! After several months of planning the event was finally here. The event was on Saturday, July 11th, a couple days after I return from my month long trip in Europe. I literally hit the ground running the day after I got back. The event was held at The Los Alamitos Race Course. Not only was it a fun venue the food and service was just exquisite! <br /><br />I really believe in this organization and the people behind it. Even though times are tough right now and I was so happy there were so many people who came out to support this great cause. The people of Illumination Foundation and the group of volunteer committee members really put their heart and soul into this event and I am so glad the event was a success. I recently did some birth announcements for my friend Debbie's son Joshua. Check out his adorable picture on the front of the birth announcement. I also finished making my nephew Ethan's 4th birthday party invitations the other day. One of his favorite movies of all time is Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas". His older sister did a super cute drawing of some of the characters from the movie and their mom asked that I incorporate that drawing to the invitation design. Of course the color scheme had to be Halloween-like. I start with the space. My starting point is to look at the architecture of the space. Whether it's a historical building with high ceiling and oversize chandeliers, or an outdoor space with trees surrounding us, I will draw inspiration from the client and together we will develop a theme that would fit the setting and bring out the client's personality. I will then imagine what the space will look like with the design concept in my head and bring the vision to life.<br /><br />Being in the interior design world has given me an opportunity to walk into a space and look at it in a total different way. Not only do I look at the space as a whole, but I look at all the details of the space down to the crown mouldings and door trims. Each and every element is important to the character of the space. When I am designing, I keep the integrity of the space in mind and work with all the elements. Each space is unique and each event is unique and I love to explore all the possibilities a space can offer.<br /><br />My recent visit to Melville Winery is a perfect example of inspiration to me. The setting itself already began to tell a story. I felt so inspired being there, and taking in the view. I love using something as simple as a cork to incorporate into an event. Interior decorating is generally focused on the selection and presentation of interior items within a space, such as furniture, accessories, finishes and room layout. Interior design, on the other hand, involves manipulating the architectural integrity of the interior space.<br /><br />Many couples think that they don't necessarily need an independent coordinator because they already have one provided by the venue. There is a difference between an independent coordinator and a venue coordinator. Venue coordinators are only responsible to take care of the details pertaining to the venue, while an independent coordinator will be taking care of all the details from the first time you meet til the day you leave for your honeymoon. You are able to call your independent coordinator if there is an emergency in the middle of the night and they will most likely be there for you, while a venue coordinator won't necessarily be there because it is outside their office hours. <br /><br />I hope you will find this information helpful to you while you are planning your wedding. Being the awesome designer she is, she already got her whole wedding mapped out. She needed me to be the "go to" person to take care of all the details on her big day. It was so great to hear the guests gushed about how beautiful the wedding was and I am so happy for the both of them. It was such an honor to be there to share their special day with them not only as a coordinator but as a friend. After a nonstop day I was so glad to finally be able to relax with them and dance the night away.
